Room Rates
Double $158 - $269
Situated on a quiet side street, the three-star Hotel Modigliani is sandwiched between the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Villa Borghese. While the hotel is at the top end of EuroCheapo's budget, it offers a great value for its location and it has a distinctly four-star feel.
Rooms are not huge, but they gleam with freshly polished marble floors. Red stripes offset the photos depicting the many faces of Rome, most of which were taken by the owner and former guests. After you stay you can even send in your own best shots (just no Colosseum photos, please!).
A few rooms have balconies with views of St. Peter's and Piazza Venezia. Aside from the unique artwork, the Modigliani's rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, a mini-fridge, TV and soundproof windows. All bathrooms are private and come with toiletries and a hair dryer.
Relax in the newly opened garden or in the spacious lounge, where you'll find a drop-down screen for spontaneous film screenings and football games. There's also a bar area in the basement.
Head out the door, down the small cobbled side street and in just a few moments you could be throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain.
Breakfast is included.

About the Modigliani neighborhood
Just south of the Villa Borghese and northwest of the train station, the Piazza di Spagna is home to the famous Spanish Steps, where hundreds gather to relax in the afternoon sun before strolling along the boutique- and café-lined Via dei Condotti. The area is home to the Trevi Fountain, the lovely Villa Borghese Park, and loads and loads of stylish (and pricey) shops. Not surprisingly, the Piazza di Spagna area is considered to be a very desireable place to stay. This means that it's not exactly a bargain-hunter's paradise.
